Seminar on “Young Media Makers Preach and Practice Peaceful Journalism” to be held in Kobuleti

24 young journalists and media makers from 13 member countries of the Council of Europe will discover what peace journalism is all about during the seminar on “Young Media Makers Preach and Practice Peaceful Journalism” to take place in Kobuleti, Georgia, on 19-26 June 2010.

The aim of the event is to explore the meaning and role of peace journalism and how it can be used by young journalists to foster peace building and conflict transformation in different cultural settings. The participants will not only get a better understanding of the peaceful journalism concept, but also will have the opportunity to put into practice their freshly acquired skills by producing special media report for Orangelog.eu. In addition to that, the seminar will tackle the issues such as Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue as major factors in supporting stability and intercultural understanding in Europe.

The seminar is organised by European Youth Press – network of young media makers in close cooperation with Academy for Peace and Development, with the kind support of the European Youth Foundation, Council of Europe.
